The Mobile Bar Pilots main office is located in the heart of downtown Mobile, Alabama within the DeTonti Square Historic District. . The office location is in close proximity to the Alabama State Docks and the offices of most Ship Agents. A large Board Room accommodates frequent meetings with various port agencies and officials. Two dispatchers maintain vessel operations year round, 24 hours per day. Please follow the instructions under “How to Order a Pilot” to see notice times for ordering pilotage services. Communications with all parties can be conducted from the office along with state of the art vessel position monitoring.
The Mobile Bar Pilot Station is located on the East End of Dauphin Island, Alabama. The Pilot Station also maintains a constant monitor of VHF Channel 16 with far reaching radio antennas. The station is manned 24/7 with professional Launch Captains who help coordinate traffic under the direction of the Dispatcher in Mobile.
Three, well maintained, modern Pilot Boats are kept ready-to-go at the Pilot Station. These vessels are maintained by a full time Port Engineer who has access to an entire shop of parts to keep the pilot boats fully operational. A private fueling facility and generator makes the Pilot Station completely self reliant. This is important to make operations continuous after Hurricanes or other natural disasters.
